about meHello Students and Parents!
I am so excited to be working with all of you for my second year at Decatur Community Jr/Sr High School! With all of the changes last year, I didn't quite get to know everyone as much as I would've liked! Here is a little about me... I grew up in Hays, Kansas, (so not too far from here!), and actually have a lot of extended family in the Oberlin/Hoxie area. I graduated from Hays High School, and then went on to pursue my college career at Kansas State University. In December of 2015, I graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Apparel and Textiles Marketing with a minor in Business Administration. I am currently an online student at FHSU working towards my Master's degree in Education. (So I'm still learning too!) |

I have been fortunate to travel, intern and live in some really neat places like New York City, LA, Tampa, Kansas City and Wichita, but family has brought me back this way! My parents and younger siblings still live in Hays, and I have four younger siblings - three of them about your guys' ages - my brother, Matthew, is a Senior, my brother, Lynkon, is a Sophomore, and my youngest sibling, Khloe, is a sixth grader this year. My other sister, Sydney, is beginning her third year at KU Med School in Wichita.
Traveling is my favorite, but I love to spend time with family and friends. My boyfriend and Landry (the best, neediest, and orneriest dog ever) live in Phillipsburg, so I get to enjoy a nice two-lane drive to work to see all of you each day. Nothing beats seeing that gorgeous country sunrise in my rear-view mirror in the mornings! We just bought our first home this summer, and love when his 2-year-old son, Jackson, gets to come play football and watch Toy Story with us!
While entering my second year of teaching, there may still be some learning curves along the way! I am so excited to be bringing yet another new course to our business program this year! It is going to be an amazing school year!
Let's learn lots, grow as individuals and have some fun too!
